The Coating Process
The basis of the SuperSoft Suede process is a modem Acrylic polymer specifically designed for Textile Bonding. The polymer, which is used only in New Zealand, is recognised internationally as the best in the industry which is one reason why our quality is second to none.
This polymer is mixed with thirteen other chemicals to produce our top quality, soft coating compound.
The specialised plant, which is made up of a number of machines electronically linked, is 50 metres long and has nearly 100 metres of fabric in process at any one time.
There are three, completely separate coating lines, each containing a number of machines, with maximum widths from 160cm (63 inch) up to 285cm (112 inch).
This demanding process requires precise control of compound density, pH, viscosity, foaming stability and solids content along with high voltage electrostatic application of precision-cut flock. Drying and high temperature curing also require constant electronic monitoring of five or six different oven temperatures.
With our attention to all these fine details the end result is a coated product that cannot be bettered.
